Sydney Circus Performers, How Love and Creativity Brought Us Together

Sydney Circus Performers

For most of my career, I never imagined that working as one of many Sydney circus performers would eventually lead me to building a creative business with the person I love.
For years, I was travelling the world as a comedy juggler, performing at corporate events, festivals, theatres and cruise ships throughout Australia and internationally. At the same time, Kylie had already built Cirqular Entertainment, creating high-end circus entertainment and immersive live experiences for corporate events, shopping centre activations and festivals.

From Different Entertainment Worlds to the Same Creative Vision

What’s funny is that although we came from very different areas of the entertainment industry, we were both obsessed with the exact same thing:

creating genuine human connection through live performance.

Not just tricks.
Not just spectacle.
Not just filling a run sheet.

Real moments.

The kind where people stop walking through a shopping centre because something unexpected catches their attention.
The kind where a corporate audience suddenly relaxes and starts genuinely laughing together.
The kind where a festival crowd gathers naturally around a performance because the atmosphere completely changes.

Blending Visual Spectacle with Audience Psychology

As Kylie and I started spending more time together, both personally and creatively, we realised our skill sets complemented each other in a way that felt incredibly natural.

Kylie brings this amazing visual and creative side to circus entertainment. Her background in aerial performance, cyr wheel, lollipop lyra and large-scale event productions means she understands how to transform the energy of a space visually and emotionally. (You can see more )

I’ve always been fascinated by audience psychology and interaction. After years of performing live, you start understanding crowd behaviour. You learn how to hold attention, how to build energy, when to create tension, when to create chaos, and how to make an audience feel involved instead of just sitting back and watching passively.

Somewhere in the middle of all that, our relationship and our creative worlds started merging together.

And honestly, that’s when things really started evolving.

How Cirqular Entertainment Evolved Beyond Sydney Circus Performers

What began as Kylie’s company slowly became something we were both building together creatively. Over time, Cirqular Entertainment became more than just a circus entertainment company or a group of Sydney circus performers.
It became a reflection of how we both believe events should actually feel.
Whether we’re creating immersive entertainment for a corporate event in Sydney, producing shopping centre activations, performing at festivals or creating roaming entertainment experiences, the goal is always the same:
make people feel something.

Why Audience Engagement Matters More Than Ever

That’s what I think a lot of modern events are missing.
People don’t remember perfectly formatted schedules.
They don’t remember every detail of the run sheet.
They remember moments.
Atmosphere.
Energy.
Connection.
That’s why we care so much about audience engagement, immersive entertainment and live interaction. We love creating experiences where people don’t just watch the entertainment, they become part of the atmosphere itself.
Over the past few years, Kylie and I have worked together across corporate entertainment Sydney events, shopping centre activations, gala dinners, festivals and community events throughout Australia. We’ve seen firsthand how the right live performers can completely shift the feeling of a space.
A shopping centre suddenly feels alive.
A gala dinner suddenly feels exciting instead of formal.
A festival crowd suddenly becomes engaged instead of distracted.

Creating Memorable Live Experiences Together

That transformation is honestly what we love most.

And I think that’s why working together has been so special creatively.

Kylie brings the visual spectacle, artistic direction and immersive circus entertainment side of things.
I bring the comedy, spontaneity, audience interaction and controlled chaos.

Somewhere in the middle is where the magic seems to happen.

At the end of the day, Cirqular Entertainment isn’t just about booking Sydney circus performers.

It’s about creating live experiences that people genuinely remember.

And building that together with someone I love has probably been one of the most rewarding parts of my career so far.
